Baptisia 'Midnight Prairie Blues'

False Indigo
One of the recent False Indigo introductions from Jim Ault, 'Midnight Prairie Blues' has deep deep blue lupine like flowers. Slow growing at first, like all Baptisia , it will eventually become almost shrublike in dimensions, easily 3-4' tall, and up to 5' wide. Baptisia like to establish rots before it puts on a lot of top growth, but patience the first year or two is rewarded with long lived robust plants . Like s a sunny spot in a soil with adequate drainage.
