We will be pushing the limits here in zone 6 growing this Mahonia, but we've had requests from our Cape Cod and Long Island customers who have been wanting to try to grow this winter blooming evergreen. The bold dark evergreen foliage resembles a holly like fern, forming vase shaped shrubs up top 10' tall in milder zones. In early winter, spiky clusters of yellow flowers put on show, later maturing to blue-black fruit. Grow in a well drained soil and site in protected spot in colder climates, with Hellebores, early bulbs and Stachyurus. Hardy to 0F. shipping large 1 gallon plants.
